Pause+Pray

Sometimes in faith circles there seems to be a message that there is a “particular” way to be a Catholic woman. And if for some reason you don't exactly fit the mold, you're not a part of the in crowd.

Help us to remember to pray for our priests. Help us to remember too that your multitude of saints in heaven will also pray for our priests—to strengthen them, encourage them, be with them.

God understands our needs and longs to see them fulfilled. And even when our longings are not fulfilled, God is still Lord of them. Do you think God is capable of fulfilling your longings?

God would bend over backwards, would go to the ends of the earth, would walk through fire, would ride through a storm, would die for the sake of you. That is an inexplicable, reckless, unrepeatable love that is so mind-boggling ...

When Jesus says, “Be compassionate as your Father is compassionate,” many people feel inadequate. But reconsider: we have God’s vast power to help us, and we are deeply made to be like God—our parent and creator.

When we pray, we ask for help because we need it. May today’s prayer give you the strength to keep seeking.
