When my family moved into my parent’s house to care for my dad following my mom’s death, we unknowingly took on a big challenge. And, no, I don’t mean taking care of Dad.
There are certain moments in our lives that stick with us. Some are happy; some are sad. But they change our lives, nonetheless.
Sometimes when we personally experience God active and moving in our life, he calls us to things we may not understand or feel a little uncertain about.
When we are at our best, we are most able to carry out the work God has given us with energy and joy.
Sometimes a life of faith can feel overwhelming, more like a burden than a gift of grace.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the doing that we forget about the being, and we forget about the One who brought us into being.
Regardless of our political perspective, we recognize that we are in a troubled time in which we cannot sit on the sidelines and trust our future and the future of the planet solely to our political leaders.
The heartache of loss can last a long time and even get in the way of nurturing other relationships. God’s love for us and those we have lost is the healing light we need to see the way forward.
To fully love as Francis did, there is no compartmentalizing. Can I follow this example?
