Though I might think myself far from gluttony’s traditional bountiful banquet, it’s squeezing me tightly whenever I have a driven need or insatiable appetite for any activity—be it feast, famine, exercise, or dressing up.

Poet John O’Donahue wrote, “I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.” Use these words to heighten your awareness of the miracle of being loved into existence.

It’s probably fair to say that there isn’t nearly enough peace in our world or in our hearts. Building peace is the only answer, and our faith in God gives us the fuel to keep trying.

By letting go of our own need to focus on differences, we learn to share our common humanity and become God’s companions in healing the world.

Our brothers and sisters can be some of the greatest blessings in our life, but can also cause pain. Reach out to your sibling(s) simply to let them know that you love and care for them.
