Josephine Bakhita said that if she met her torturers she would kiss their feet, for without them she would not have become a Christian or a woman religious.

St. John Bosco once said, “Enjoy yourself as much as you like if only you keep from sin.” In this modern age of moral pitfalls, that can be a tall ask! But God loves us in spite of our sins.

Reconciliation is at the heart of our Christian faith. Christ’s self-sacrifice paved the way for our salvation. As believers we must follow in his steps.

One of the most powerful examples Jesus taught his followers was how to forgive—for Jesus forgave his very executioners from the wood of the cross.

Forgiveness isn’t just about letting our grievances go. Forgiveness is the path to restoring the love that binds us to God and to one another.
