Trust in the slow work of God. If we try to control our lives, we will never be at peace. Wait with openness and unclench your fists. Receive fully what God has for you without grasping.

Joseph’s love for Mary and Jesus began in his obedience to God. When angels told him to take Mary into his home, flee Bethlehem for Egypt, and then leave for Nazareth, Joseph did so without questioning.

Advent is a time to wait in hope for the birth of Jesus. It requires patience on our part—and therein lies the struggle for many. God loves you in spite of it.

The joyful season of Christmas is often so stressful that it can rob us, ironically, of our joy.

Think of a time you tried to untie a “knot” in your life. Did you get frustrated? Know that Mary our mother is patient and gentle with the sorrows and challenges that you bring to her.

Losing someone we love is difficult. Even though we believe in heaven and life after death, their absence from everyday life is painful.
