We’re Called to Make ‘Good Trouble’

Woman looking at graffiti that says freedom

Reflect

The late congressman John Lewis was known for his lifetime work fighting racism through his words calling people to make, “good trouble, necessary trouble.” A freedom fighter deeply inspired by the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Lewis tirelessly poured out his life for racial justice and healing in our nation until the day he died.

Pray

Spirit of Truth, there is power when an individual stands up
for the truth of their convictions.
You inspired Congressman Lewis to work and advocate
for the way of peace–the way of love and nonviolence.
Through his witness, may we be inspired to listen
to where the Spirit living in us calls us to move.
Amen.

Act

Ask the Holy Spirit, “Where am I called to make good trouble today for the Kingdom of God?”
