It's often when we feel most abandoned that God is closest to us. We get in the way of that union, but God knows are steps before we make them.

In prayer, we merely keep returning the divine gaze, and we become its reflection, almost in spite of ourselves (2 Corinthians 3:18).

I have found a tremendous amount of foundational stability, trust, and comfort in the generosity of others.
