On this New Year’s Day, for what are you thankful in the past year? What are your dreams—your “yes”—for the year to come?

What does expressing gratitude really mean? What is something in your daily life that you take for granted but that is actually a blessing from God?

A truly grateful person overlooks the negatives to focus on the world’s abundant delights. People want to be around them, to become as thankful as they are.

The optimist believes everything will work itself out. As Christians we are not optimists; we are people of hope.

Simply by going to Mass each Sunday, we hear a huge portion of the Bible over the course of three years.

Today, envision the picture created by these lines from Psalm 141: “Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening offering.”
