Franciscan Saints

Francis of Assisi may not have written the words of the Peace Prayer attributed to him, but he certainly lived them.

And the miracles, all of them, move forward, as miracles do, and this new one, a boy who believed, who chronicled miracles about holy bread.

There is a mysticism for everyone. The mysticism Francis offers is for all believers, a mysticism that he illustrates through the gestures of his own life.

St. Francis of Assisi often prayed this little prayer which helped him put everything in his life into perspective: “Who are you, O Lord, and who am I?”

In the Incarnation, God revealed to us who God is. The Incarnation showed us the face of God.

I know many of us feel disjointed right now, unsure of how we will ever feel whole as a nation again or engage in peaceful, fruitful dialogue.
