The Gospel of Luke would have us heed the words of Jesus: The Kingdom is in our midst, but we truly appreciate it only if we walk with Christ in his suffering and death.

Poet John O’Donahue wrote, “I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.” Use these words to heighten your awareness of the miracle of being loved into existence.

Saint John Leonardi was a priest and founder of the Clerks Regular of the Mother of God. He also formed the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. Father Leonardi and his priests became a great power for good in 16th century Italy.

What is important to all of us is not family background, but being in touch with the word of God. Human relationships are important. But more important is our relationship with God.

It’s probably fair to say that there isn’t nearly enough peace in our world or in our hearts. Building peace is the only answer, and our faith in God gives us the fuel to keep trying.

The rosary is a truly Catholic devotion. It is a form of prayer and meditation in honor of Mary and celebrates the mysteries of Jesus’ and Mary’s lives. It has been called a miniature catechism highlighting the key events of our faith. Our Lady of the Rosary remembers Mary’s intercession and celebrates this popular devotion.

Jesus’ present power over the devil should come as no surprise. He is still the Lord, still the same loving and powerful Jesus he always was.

This Incarnate God can become present in us through the sacramental grace of the mystery of the Holy Eucharist wherein we eat the body and drink the blood of Christ whose effect is to intensify the indwelling of God in us.

When you understand, you can be understood. The story of Francis and the wolf, whether it happened or not, reminds us of that.

By letting go of our own need to focus on differences, we learn to share our common humanity and become God’s companions in healing the world.
