Over a century ago, Mark Twain created the character Huckleberry Finn, a poor orphan who had been blessed (or cursed) with an innate sense of right and wrong, which was often in conflict with the accepted norms of his day.

Ilia Delio writes, “The Franciscan path is different because it does not ask, ‘What would Jesus do?’ but, ‘How does Jesus live in me?’”

Children have the unique ability to read “energy” and the present moment in a way that we as adults sometimes miss out on because we are stuck in our heads or agendas.

Forgiveness isn’t just about letting our grievances go. Forgiveness is the path to restoring the love that binds us to God and to one another.

Each time I pray the words of the Serenity Prayer, I am reminded of how I am not in control of my life or the people and situations around me.

Consider for a moment the many hands that made the plate of food in front of you possible.
