Reflect

A guilty pleasure of mine is buying five- or seven-dollar flower bouquets to brighten my table. As a few stems of my Charmelias started to droop, I sadly added them to my trash. But then I looked closely at the vase: no water. Filling it, I smiled as each bloom bounced back to life. Those resurrected “charming beauties” graced my table for many more days.

Pray

God, giver of life,
renew my spirit when it is drooping,
saddened by family illness,
devastating weather events,
conflicts in our streets.
Remind me when I need
to be rejuvenated
that I should turn to prayer,
to special people,
to quiet places where my soul can be refreshed.

Act

Just as I was unaware that the flowers right in front of me needed a lift, so I sometimes fail to read the faces and muted cries for help around me. Today, open your eyes to see if someone you know needs a little watering to revive their spirits.
