Reflect

Even though we’re enclosed in the steel and glass bubbles of our cars, driving offers so many opportunities to connect with our fellow fragile human travelers who share the road with us. Moving through this complex ecosystem of routes and rules, lanes and lights, we share a common hope: to get where we’re going unscathed.

Pray

God of the highways and byways,
help us be our best selves behind the wheel.
May we be courteous, not careless,
patient in traffic
and with those reckless ones
who endanger themselves and others.
In your mercy, keep us all safe,
and wherever we drive,
help us remember that
all roads lead to you.

Act

Getting anywhere safely in a car is a minor modern miracle. Whether on a long-distance road trip, a quick jaunt to the grocery, or the daily commute, offer your journey to God’s protection and care. And the next time someone cuts you off in traffic or drives aggressively and dangerously, take the high road: say a prayer for them rather than cursing them.
