Reflect
Storms rage all around us: political storms, weather storms, storms of violence. When an unexpected storm arose and terrified his disciples in the boat, Jesus said, “Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?” (Mark 4:40). And then he calmed the storm.
Pray
Dear Jesus, I want to have great faith, a faith that is strong no matter what happens around me. I want to feel the calm that you can provide. There are so many problems in our world, so many storms; they seem infinite. Help me remember that you are more infinite and powerful than all these storms together. Help me remember your words: “In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world” (John 16:33).
