God Is All You Need

“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.”—Corinthians 12:9

Recently someone who was going through a very difficult time in her life told me something I hope I never forget. She said, “Sometimes when your feel like God is all you have, you discover that God is all you need.” She was learning a great lesson. Friends, finances, and health are wonderful gifts to us from our loving God. But all will sooner or later pass away. In gratitude we thank God for his many gifts. By faith he shows us that he has been the giver of those gifts and that the greatest, most reliable, external, no-fail gift is himself. We will always have God. Yes, when we feel like all we have is God, we discover that God is all we need.

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Amen.
