“No mother should bear the death of her son.” I heard that sentiment expressed in my family as a teenager, when my favorite uncle died of cancer in his forties.

Mary never distanced herself from love: throughout her life her whole being is a “yes” to that love, it is the “yes” to God.

Two thousand years ago, Mary had a baby. We can relate a few historical facts about both mother and child, but very few.
