We don’t know much about Matthias except that he was with Jesus from the beginning, and had witnessed the risen Christ.

Still today the members of the Church are served by dedicated apostles. We are grateful for preachers of the word--past and present.

Our efforts on God’s behalf don’t always get the response we would like. All we can do is continue trying.

The Lord looks out for me here and now, and continuously works at saving me. My response has to be ongoing gratitude--a grateful heart.
