Reflect

“Lord, open my lips and my mouth will proclaim your praise.” I begin morning prayer with these words from Psalm 51. Recently I have consciously, silently, integrated them into my teaching. I hope to bring these words to life in my classroom, not overtly but through my mindset: that each student is a reflection of the Lord I praise.

Pray

Lord, as I move from morning prayer
to tasks that do not allow much time for reflection,
I want the fruits of my prayer and scripture reading
to spill over into more facets of my day.
I ask you to be with me on this journey for a richer life,
one that threads you seamlessly into it.

Act

During the next weeks, pay attention to prayers you love or scripture verses that speak to you. Find a short passage or a few lines that can serve as a motivating motto or mantra to remind you that God is with you, even in the most repetitive routines of your day.
