Imagine Jesus saying, “Martha, Martha, you are worried about many things,” but replace Martha’s name with your own. How will you answer him?
Saint Camillus de Lellis was rejected by the Capuchins because of an ongoing medical condition. Against the advice of a friend, he founded a religious community on his own to care for the sick. These men proved to be invaluable during the plague, caring for the worst of its victims.
Sometimes we are tempted to ask for greater reassurance from the Lord, for some further indication that the Lord is really with us. But in Jesus we already have all the certainty we need.

Saint Francis Solano asked to be sent to Africa as a missionary. Instead he was sent to South America, where he spent the rest of his life. After years of ministry in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay, he died in the city of Lima, Peru.
Often when children want to be heard they will simply continue to raise their voices until someone takes notice. As we grow older we still want to have our voices heard, but we know that yelling is usually ineffective. There are other ways, though, and we also can speak through our actions.

Jesus will be an agent of the Spirit of God–meek and gentle in the face of hostility. He is concerned with kindness more than with victory. He will extend the loving justice of God even to the Gentiles.
