Reflect
In all four canonical gospels, as John the Baptist is baptizing Jesus, the Holy Spirit alights as a dove (Mt 3:13-17, Mk 1:9-11, Lk 3:21-22, Jn 1:32-34). Imagine the dove flying through the pages of the gospels, weaving in and out, binding us to God’s grace and love.
Pray
Holy Spirit,
descend upon us,
as you did with Jesus.
Every time we bless ourselves,
first with “Father” and “Son”,
we then tap our fingers to our shoulders–
one side we say “Holy”
and the other “Spirit”.
We ask you to bless our steps with your beauty.
Shower us with peace from your wings.
