Healing Ourselves of False Conceptions of God

photos-by-pexels

Reflect

When confronted by your own sins, how often do you imagine God as looking upon you with wrath, ready to strike a blow that casts you away? Often, our perception of God is warped by our woundedness, and requires the balm of his love and mercy to heal those misconceptions of God.

Pray

Merciful Jesus,
you revealed yourself to St. Faustina
to remind the world of your Divine Mercy.
You moved her to write,
“The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to my mercy”.
In those moments where we attribute to you
our own hardness of heart and rancor,
meet us in that woundedness
and reveal yourself,
glorifying that wound and transforming it
into a bridge to your most Sacred Heart.

Act

Whenever you feel that God won’t forgive you, renounce the false perception that you have attributed to God. Then, trust in his mercy and desire to forgive and heal you.
