Reflect
When Jesus came to Peter’s house, his mother-in-law was sick in bed. Jesus grasped her hand, helped her up, and the fever left her (Mark 1:30-31). I may not have a fever, and I may not even have a physical illness, but Jesus can help with whatever sickness burns in my heart.
Pray
Dear Jesus,
you know my wounds and hurts.
You know my painful mistakes
and embarrassing imperfections;
you know my sins and faults and failings.
And yet, you reach out your hand to me,
lift me up, and just like Peter’s mother-in-law,
you make me well.
Act
Reach out to a sick friend today and offer to ‘give them a hand’ with whatever they need.
