Choosing Joy Everyday

Reflect

Joy isn’t a naïve denial of life’s struggles—it’s a choice we make to root ourselves in God’s enduring love. Some days it’s a dance party in the kitchen; other days it’s a whispered “thank you” through tears. As Pope Francis reminds us, “Joy adapts and changes, but it always endures, even as a flicker of life born of our personal certainty that, when everything is said and done, we are infinitely loved” (Evangelii Gaudium, 6). So we choose joy—not because life is easy, but because God’s love is real.

Pray

God of Joy, thank you for the gift of this day. No matter what it holds, let me choose to greet it with a grateful heart. Fan into flame the spark of joy that reminds me I am loved, known, and never alone.

Act

Find a small way to delight today: play a favorite song, text a silly meme to a friend, or look for something beautiful outside. Let joy sneak up on you, and then pass it along.
