It’s important for us to remain aware of the Lord Jesus’ eternal splendor in the court of heaven where he surpasses all else in glory.
Somehow striking the rock twice constituted unfaithfulness by Moses and Aaron. In any case, this event marked the end of Moses’ leadership.
Sometimes God’s demands of us and God’s gifts to us seem to be too much. But they’re still acts of God’s love for us and have to be dealt with accordingly.
God’s people are not always satisfied with the leadership he sends them, but the people’s leaders come from God and must be received accordingly.
The Israelites complained about the food that God provided for them in the desert. It wasn’t tasty enough. They didn’t recognize or appreciate what God was giving them.
Our possessions are not ours pure and simple. Everything we have is on loan to us from God, and is to be restored to him at regularly established intervals.
