Sharing the Word for August 6, 2021

Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

August 6, 2021
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14

The Feast of the Transfiguration reminds us of our need to give attention to the glory of the Lord. The Lord Jesus is not only our savior come to redeem us. He is also the eternal Word who lives with the Father in the midst of the angels and who enjoys eternal dominion, kingship, and glory.

It’s easy for us to focus on the Lord Jesus only in the context of the redemption that he had in store for us. But it’s important to remain aware also of his eternal splendor in the court of heaven where he surpasses all else in glory and exercises a kingship that will not be destroyed.

The Lord Jesus rules forever. We praise him for his glory.
