We all have limitations and deficiencies to present to the Lord for his attention. Today’s narrative teaches us to bring our needs to the Lord persistently and confidently.

If the unjust judge in today’s parable eventually gives in to the petitioner because he gets tired of her unceasing petitions, how much more will God listen to requests of those he loves?

It’s important for the Christian believer to reflect occasionally on the last judgment. If nothing else, such reflection will remind us that the time for change and repentance is now.

We can’t predict when or where the kingdom will appear in its final fullness. We can only try to be attentive to its manifestations as we continue to pray “Thy kingdom come.”

God loves his people. He wants to be close to them in all sorts of ways. That’s why we honor our churches and offer thanks for them.

Faith makes forgiveness possible. When we forgive we offer love to another in spite of the evil the other may have done to us. Seeing good in one who has hurt me requires faith.

There has to be a certain unity of purpose in our lives, a subordination of means to ends. Money is to be used as a means to the spiritual end to which we are called.
