hands stacked on top of each other as a sign of teamwork

Reflect

There are times in our lives when we are drawn together by tragedy. 9/11 was one of those events. In the days following the terrorist attacks, the country united in the face of extreme devastation. Suddenly, differences fell away and we worked with and for each other. Twenty-four years later, that unity seems to be gone. How do we reclaim it?

Prayer

Lord,
Everything seems so broken
in the world right now.
Our differences seem to be taking
Precedence over our similarities,
Leading to discontent and violence.
Help us remember that
We are all your children and
made in your loving image.
Inspire in us the sense of community
That our world so desperately needs right now.

Act

Say a prayer of peace and comfort for those who were lost in and affected by the 9/11 attacks. Also pray for those currently experiencing violence and terror in their lives through war.
