Dear Readers: This is a bittersweet column. Ten years ago, I began writing At Home on Earth for St. Anthony Messenger, and, with this issue, it comes to a close.

As a parent, I have learned over and over that as time marches on, things change.

With the 2024 election cycle ramping up, American Elections takes on even more meaning for us as citizens and as people of faith.

We all know that what types of food we eat can have a big impact on our bodies and overall health. What we don’t give as much attention to is what we ingest into our minds and spirits.

In all creatures God is revealed to us: the beauty, the grandeur, the infinite variety, the individuality, and the mystery. That is what St. Francis saw and what he teaches us.
