Reflect

On a recent stroll through the woods, I was struck by the number of broken trees. Some apparently died from the damage, but others continued to grow, and some even appeared to thrive. Aren’t we all damaged somehow? Do we let it destroy us? Do we simply survive? Or do we ask for God’s help and find a way to thrive.

Pray

Dear God,
we are your people,
wounded and broken,
but still yours.
Nourish our weary souls,
strengthen our weakened bodies,
fill our hearts with your loving goodness.
Help us to thrive
so we can work with you
to heal the brokenness around us.

Act

Look at a broken tree or branch in your travels today. As you do, think about one area in your life that seems broken and ask for God’s help with it.
