Pause
The rich man never saw Lazarus at his doorstep—until it was too late. Paul calls us to pursue gentleness and righteousness, and Jesus warns that real faith is revealed in how we treat the poor, the overlooked, the inconvenient. We don’t serve the poor out of guilt or fear—but because love demands that we see those the world ignores. This is the heart of discipleship: mercy that crosses the threshold of comfort.
Pray
Jesus, help me to see with Your eyes.
Don’t let me walk past pain
out of distraction or indifference.
Grow in me the kind of compassion
that does more than feel—it acts.
Let me serve not to impress You,
but because I already belong to You.
Amen.
