In Mary’s Magnificat she prays, “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior” (Luke 1:46-47).
Pray
Dear God, help me to remember true joy is not found in other people, adventures, books, movies, retail therapy, alcohol, or any of the other things the world suggests. They may bring temporary pleasure, but only you bring true joy. And unlike those fleeting moments of pleasure, your joy remains with me through the good and bad days of my life. In you – and only you – my joy is complete. Amen.
