Fear is human. It’s universal. It’s almost become a companion for some in these fractured and violent times. But the Gospels are filled with pearls of wisdom to steady us when we are afraid. When each step in our day is imperiled, remember this: You are loved beyond your comprehension. You needn’t fear the steps ahead because God cleared the path. It’s already finished. Just keep moving forward. Matthew 14:27 reads: “At once Jesus spoke to them, ‘Take courage, it is I do not be afraid.’”

Breathe in these words. Let them take root. Carry them with you. Be not afraid.
