Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Daily Reading from the USCCB: Ephesians 3:8-12, 14-19
The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the many liturgical celebrations that the Church offers us to highlight the love of God’s Son for his human creatures. Over and over again in the liturgy the Lord Jesus expresses his love for us. On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart we especially commemorate Jesus’ loving gift of himself in his death on the cross.
Saint Paul, in the reading from Ephesians, rejoices that he has been called to proclaim the generosity of Christ: his wisdom, the riches that Christ makes available to those who accept his love for them. To love the Lord Jesus, Saint Paul says, is to be filled with the riches of God. We offer the Lord our thanks.
