Reflect
Made in the image of the Trinity, we’re created for communion with each other. But community is also fragile, and we’re living in a time when our social fabric is frayed and torn. More than ever, we need to remember that we need each other, that we belong to one another—even and especially across our differences.
Pray
God of Three-in-One,
We are a lonely people,
Isolated and alienated from each other.
Any kind of common life
Has become so tragically uncommon.
Heal our dividedness,
Draw us back to each other.
Help us recover the precious gift
Of our togetherness.
Act
Here are three actions you can take to help rebuild social ties. Spend less time on screens and more with other people, in the flesh. Become part of a group or club geared around service or a common activity. Finally, if you have a neighbor, friend, or relative from whom you’ve become estranged because of toxic politics, make even a small overture to rebuild that relationship.
