Reflect
After he feeds the 5,000, Jesus tells his disciples to gather up the fragments so nothing is wasted. Isn’t that how God works in our lives, too? He gathers our disappointments and the broken pieces of our hopes and dreams and uses them for good. Nothing we endure is wasted.
Pray
Dear Jesus, your suffering on the cross was horrific;
yet in the resurrection, it became the beauty of our salvation.
Please take my brokenness and transform it into something beautiful. Amen.
Act
Be on the lookout today for something that was broken and repurposed: a fallen tree that now provides shelter for a doe and her fawn, a shattered glass bottle crafted into a mosaic tile. Even better, find something broken at home or work and repurpose it into something new.
