Embracing the Quiet of the Cold and Dark in Winter

Reflect

Winter invites us to slow down, even when we resist it. The cold and dark are not empty; they are restful and protective. This season reminds us that not everything needs to bloom right now. Some growth happens unseen, beneath the surface. Sometimes holiness looks like stillness, silence, and warmth. Even God rests beneath the surface of creation.

Pray

God of quiet seasons,
help me honor my need for rest.
Release me from the pressure
to always produce or perform.
Meet me in the stillness I often avoid.
Warm my spirit as You hold
the world in patience and care.
Teach me to trust the hidden work
You are doing in me.
Thank You for seasons
that heal through slowing down.

Act

Create one intentional moment of rest today.
Put away the noise, even briefly.
Let yourself simply be.
