We live in a world of constant stimulation. Yet we can still get bored. This prayer is for those moments.
Pray
God, you are the author of all beauty and majesty.
Your words fashioned the earth and brought life to the word.
Yet, on the seventh day, you rested.
May I rest in you in my moments of restlessness.
May my moments of boredom
be a reminder to seek you above all else.
Amen.

Choose a time today when you normally seek entertainment. Instead, sit in the restlessness and bored feeling. Offer that uncomfortable silence as a prayer, mindful of God’s presence—the true comfort of your heart.
