We so often go about our day without giving a thought to the habits we perform throughout them. We slurp our cup of coffee or tea while driving down the road, we inhale a burger on the go without a thought.

Children so often simply want to spend time with their parent or guardian, following them as they go about their day. They don’t need another child-centered activity, or to be constantly entertained and distracted–they want to feel connection.

“I am so afraid to open my clenched fists!” wrote Henri Nouwen. Without the assistance of grace, there is not much over which we willingly surrender control.

The Church has left a legacy of beautiful church buildings, literature, music, art, and ideas for all the world to ponder. Just stepping into an ancient cathedral in Europe can lead to conversion.

If you have been silently struggling with depression or anxiety, make an appointment for therapy. Or, if a friend, loved one, or coworker is dealing with mental health issues, sometimes simply being present and listening to him/her is just what that person needs in the moment.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience” (Col 3:12).

G.K. Chesterton once wrote: “Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.”
