Sharing the Word for November 25, 2021

Thursday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time

November 25, 2021
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Daniel 6:12-28

This is another story about faithfulness–about Daniel’s faithfulness to God and God’s faithfulness to Daniel.

It’s probably the best known part of the Book of Daniel. Everybody knows the story of Daniel in the lions’ den, perhaps because it’s a story about each of us. In one way or another we have all been rescued by God from danger–danger arising from the physical world in which we live, danger arising from our bodily health, danger arising from the spiritual atmosphere around us.

God rescues us from dangers like these as well as from others we’re not even aware of. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the ongoing care and protection of our heavenly Father. It all calls for gratitude.
