Jesus couldn’t satisfy his enemies by argument because they didn’t want to be persuaded by him. How open am I to persuasion by the Lord?

As Jesus’ ministry evolves it will become clear that he offers his followers nothing less than participation in the life of God. This was more than the Jewish leaders could handle. So they set out to kill him.

You can’t be forgiven if you don’t forgive. When we stand before God asking for forgiveness, we have to be able to show how we ourselves have been forgiving.

The power of the prophets is not focused on those who are humanly closest to them. Their power is directed as God determines. God’s interests are much broader than ours.

Today we should thank the Lord for the part he has given each of us to play in his Church. None of us is insignificant to the Lord. None of us is useless.

Like the tenants in today's parable, we too are not fully committed to the charge that God gives us. We have reason to be concerned about the coming of the master of the vineyard.
