The willingness to work with God will unleash Joseph’s full potential. His inherent aptitude for organization and for building is well suited to the rearing of God’s Son. First and foremost, it situates Jesus in the same condition as the vast majority of people. He isn’t raised with wealth, prestige, or influence but in ordinary obscurity.
Was Joan of Arc inspired? Was she mentally ill? Does her example of armed resistance have anything to say to Americans mired in unrest?

Jesus said: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber. But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as the shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
In the midst of human life Christians gather to share their common needs and gifts. We break open the scriptures, we break the bread, and we go out ready to witness.
When I first started going on contemplative retreats, I remember how difficult it was to give myself grace in my journey inward.
“He died alone!” “We were not with her!” These lamentations are heard daily as people recount the most bitter experience of losing a loved one to COVID-19.

Most of us are used to a scientific approach to the world around us. However when we hear this Gospel proclaimed we can take heart from our fellow believers who “have not seen, and yet believe.”
O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,
I adore you, I love you and will a lively sorrow for my sins.
I offer you this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will.
