In today’s First Reading Saint Paul tells the Ephesians that we all belong to the household of the faith, built upon the apostles on the basic foundation stone of Christ.

In our world if we focus on God first, then on loving others because of our relationship with God, we’ll have our priorities straight. And then we can properly evaluate everything else.
God has worked for our salvation from the beginning in the unfolding of his plans for us. This divine care will continue until it is brought to final consummation.

“Disciple” sounds pretty serious–as in the Apostles, saints, and martyrs who we emulate so much. But we don’t have to view it as a loaded phrase or some unattainable goal.
God has given us hope of salvation–hope that makes present suffering and effort seem as nothing compared with the glory that lies ahead.
