Reflect
When we pray the Our Father and ask God for our daily bread, what are we really asking for? In John 4:34, Jesus tells His disciples that His food is to do the will of God. It is what feeds and sustains Him. And yet the will of the Father, lead Jesus to the Cross; His daily bread.
Pray
Lord Jesus,
give me the peace
to rest in the will of the Father.
Let me be fed by God’s work,
wherever He leads.
And let my daily bread be found
in this simple prayer:
Thy will be done.
Act
How do you feel when life doesn’t go as planned? When all your dreams seem to crumble like burnt toast? When your daily bread doesn’t taste the way you want it to? Contemplate the reading from Paul’s letter to the Philippians 2: 6-11. Thinking back over your day, ask yourself: Where was God leading you? What was your daily bread?
