Reflect
As predictable as the morning light streaming through my porch window—he’s at it again. My aging neighbor shuffles out his front door down his driveway, picking up the newspaper he retrieves daily for his frail wife. Then another trip—to his neighbor’s driveway to do the same for her, a recent widow. Angels abound, if only we keep our eyes open.
Pray
Generous God,
shower blessings upon
the many thoughtful people
who move quietly through my world,
healing rather than harming,
asking no reward,
humble enough to let
their small acts of kindness
go unnoticed.
Act
Keep your eyes open today for the “stealthy angels” moving through your world—bringing a neighbor’s trash can in from the curb, helping an elderly person out of their car, inviting a young mother with a fussy baby to step ahead in a grocery line. Let them know you see them, with a thank you, a smile or a subtle thumbs up.
