Following Jesus isn’t a feel-good hobby or a part-time interest—it’s a whole-life commitment. In today’s Gospel, Jesus challenges us to consider the cost of discipleship. Like someone planning to build a tower or march into battle, we’re called to prepare our hearts for what it means to live a life rooted in Christ. True discipleship isn’t easy, but it is worth everything.

Jesus, I want to follow you with my whole heart. Give me the grace to count the cost and still say yes. When I’m tempted to hold back or play it safe, remind me that you gave everything out of love. Help me to choose you daily with courage and joy.

Spend 10 minutes today asking yourself honestly: What am I holding back from Christ? What step can I take this week to follow Christ more fully?
