Today we should thank the Lord for the part he has given each of us to play in his Church. None of us is insignificant to the Lord. None of us is useless.
Like the tenants in today’s parable, we too are not fully committed to the charge that God gives us. We have reason to be concerned about the coming of the master of the vineyard.
Lent is a time for us to look into our hearts and see what is important to us and for whom and for what we are willing to extend ourselves.
Jesus says that his kingdom is not like the earthly kingdoms with which we are familiar. What do I see as the outcome of my dedication to Jesus? For what kind of a kingdom am I looking?
Jesus says that what’s important is not the religious appearance we present but the reality that underlies the appearance. How much of me is real?
Loving the person who has harmed us in spite of the harm is precisely what constitutes forgiveness. How forgiving am I?
