Today’s feast offers an opportunity to renew our awareness of our friends in the Lord. The encouragement and support we receive from them are an important element in our service of the Lord.
We have been called by Jesus to be messengers of the salvation that he brings. It is a call we dare not neglect.
Jesus’ tabernacle is not something made with hands, but is the eternal tabernacle of heaven. Here Jesus offers himself to the Father, a once and for all offering.
The new covenant expressed in Christ renders the old covenant obsolete, and any desire to hang on to the old is misplaced.
Jesus is the one, true, priest forever and he intercedes for us. He has no need to make sacrifices to make up for his own sinfulness. It is good to offer him our thanks.
