Here I offer my reflections on the Sorrowful Mysteries. They logically follow the final Luminous Mystery, namely, the Eucharist—the meal Jesus shared with his disciples shortly before his crucifixion.
When Pope John Paul II added the Luminous Mysteries to the three already existing mysteries of the Rosary, my heart immediately responded with “Right on!”
With the Glorious Mysteries, we reflect on each of the mysteries of the Rosary. And now, with this reflection on the Glorious Mysteries, we have prayerfully covered 20 key events in the lives of Jesus and Mary.
Anthony was born in 1195 (13 years after St. Francis) in Lisbon, Portugal, at the mouth of the Tagus River, from which explorers would later sail across the Atlantic.
As the feast of Saint Anthony (June 13) draws near, my memories go back to Padua where I spent several days in 2014.
