Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Advent
December 21, 2021
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Psalm 33:2-3, 11-12, 20-21
God is coming and his advent calls for joy and gratitude in his presence. This psalm is a hymn of praise in which we are invited to proclaim the glories of God who is ever faithful to his promises. He is the wise and mighty ruler of the world whose Being calls for confidence in his goodness.
We are called to find joy and gladness and gratitude and pleasure in him. We are called to sing to him because of his goodness and because of the loving and lasting plans for us that he keeps in his heart. Our soul should wait for him with gladness. His goodness is the source of confidence for our future.
“Exult in the Lord! Sing him a new song.”
