The lives of three women with a shared desire to provide healing and protection to neglected animals intertwine at the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary.
Though he probably didn’t write it, the Peace Prayer attributed to St. Francis captures much of his spirit. He spent time and energy being an “instrument of peace.”

Known mostly for his translation of the Scriptures into Latin, Saint Jerome was also an inspiring writer of letters and commentaries. Many people today reject Jesus. They’re not interested in what he has to offer. They look on faith and religion as a kind of hobby–appropriate for those who like that sort of thing, irrelevant to those who don’t.
In suffering Francis felt especially close to Jesus. Not that he wanted to punish himself or that he took delight in pain, but in illness he saw a weakness that was strength.
Francis knew in his heart what the cost would be to follow Christ—and he paid it. And so Lady Poverty would be his forever!
Think how the light returning in your life each day is a miracle to behold. It might be the physical light of the sun or the light of a friend’s smile.
